Hi my name is Renee; I am a boutique wedding and portrait photographer on the Sunshine Coast, though my photography takes me to places like Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Brisbane, even Adelaide and Sydney.
My passion for photography developed at an early age when I use to admire my father’s passion for photography (and his Nikon Camera). After getting an after school job and saving for months, the first camera I purchased was a Pentax MZ50 when I was about 15 years old. I loved being able to just play around with my film camera trying to emulate my father’s artistic flair and I also had fun at school when we did photography in art class at high school (which I just loved). I even did work experience at a Film Lab that year!
After high school life took me to Uni where I completed a Bachelor of Multimedia.
Fast forward a few years. I’m now married to my best friend, have 3 children and live in Aroona on the Sunshine Coast. After my first son Mitchell was born, I realised how important capturing every single precious moment was, for as most parents know – children grow up way too fast. By having images to remind me of this amazing time in my life I was able to relive those happy moments. This is when I invested in my first DSLR camera. In 2011 I decided to take this new photography obsession to the next level and attended numerous professional workshops to help me make the move from passionate amateur to consummate professional. I originally focused on family and newborn portrait photography building my business on customer satisfaction – word of mouth is probably still the number 1 marketing tool for me!
In 2012 I could say I found a new passion in photography; however in reality it actually found me – I was approached by a few of my family clients that were getting married and asked if I would be their wedding photographer;. Wow, that’s all I can say – I just loved it!! The excitement that surrounds any and every wedding is something that you don’t ever want to forget. I feel that through my casual and relaxed style, clients are able to feel at ease, have a good time, and let their personalities shine whilst I focus on making sure my photographs tell the unique story of their wedding day. I love documenting weddings and how they unfold. I equally love when I get to re-share that day with my clients showing them the finished photos for the first time and know they feel the same love (and more) as the day I captured it.
After moving to Aroona in 2013 I gained the opportunity to setup a natural light studio at my home. I use this space to meet with potential wedding clients and I also still enjoy capturing newborn babies in their first few days of life – I feel blessed that I can capture such purity.
So that is my story and here are few things you might like to know about me:
